about
This song took so many turns while writing it. I think the song is super reflective as during the time it was created I (Aston) was on my own emotional roller coaster just as I feel the song moves between something calm and something loud and present.
The whole theme behind the lyrics are self recovery, I had a period of time where I wasn’t sure if I was myself, or someone else and I couldn’t perceive where the true version of myself had gone. I believe I’ve personally discovered it and recovered from my own personal issues I had with myself and have recovered my true self.
The song started out with no meaning at all but grew Into something special at the same time I was recovering from everything I had gone through. It’s nice to be on the other side and have this song as a reminder and proof that things do get better.
lyrics
Self imploding carousels
Intersecting parallels
Everything fell into place
When I stared all night at outer space
I’m scared, I’ll fly
I’ll say goodbye cause
A hundred other things are taking up my mind
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again
Fixations just inside of my head
Rusty old Ferris wheels
My recollection keeps me real
Take it at a steady pace
As I stare all night at outer space
I’m scared, I’ll fly
I’ll say goodbye cause
A hundred other things are taking up my mind
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again
Fixations just inside of my head
Speaking out loud
The difference that it makes
Never felt so proud
Breaking out this cage
The weakness I feel
Is all up in the clouds
Made me feel surreal
Never coming down
Never coming down
I'm never coming down
I wanted to, I want it too
Never coming down
I wanted to, I want it too
Never coming down
I wanted to, I want it too
Never coming down
I wanted to, I want it too
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again
Fixations just inside of my head
Inside of my head (x3)
I’m scared, I’ll fly, I’ll say goodbye cause
A hundred other things are taking up my mind (x5)
